Nuber of records affected

In a stored procedure, I have an update statement which happens if a certain condition is met. How do I capture the number of records affectd by the action so I can log this?

Vasu,
Since this is the Oracle forum, I will assume you are using an Oracle database, and that your stored procedure is a PL/SQL stored procedure.

Use the "SQL%ROWCOUNT", for example:

begin
  update DEPT set DNAME='Cairo' where DEPTNO=10;
  DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(to_char(SQL%ROWCOUNT) || ' rows updated.');
end;
