Crosstab report query (fixed number of columns)

I read somewhere that if I've a fixed number of columns for a crosstab report, I could use a SQL select statement instead of stored procedures. But I can't seems to find that piece of code anymore.

Does anyone know how to do so?

Problem solved with the help of Google & AskTom.
