I have this code which works perfectly fine when i run it on Tomcat. But gives error(java.lang.IllegalStateException: OutputStream already retrieved) when i run it on Oracle 9iAS.

I call this page from a javascript function on another page.

#######################################################
<%@ page language="java" import="java.io.*"%>
<%
try
{
response.getWriter().write("emp_no|passS");
%>
<table border='2' bgcolor='#efefef'>
<tr>
<td>hiiii</td>
<td>hiiii</td>
<td>hiiii</td>
<td>hiiii</td>
<td>hiiii</td>
<td>hiiii</td>
</tr>
<%
}
catch(Exception e)
{
out.println("Errorss:"+e);
}
%>
#######################################################

Please to be helping.

You should post it in JSP forum. It looks like a bug in Oracle JSP (no surprise they are great in database, but Java)implementation which took servletoutput stream before actual needs of it.

Edit: Just tested with GNU JSP on TJWS and it worked, so file a bug to Oracle.

"WigNes PigNes",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
