I'm thinking it would be good to create a new forum on process. Maybe call it "Process: UP, RUP, DRUP, XP, etc."
Any feelings on this?
Also, this forum would need a moderator. Somebody who knows at least a little bit about the topic at hand, but doesn't have to be an expert. Must also be somebody that is familiar with JavaRanch.

I think this would be a good thread. We've experimented with XP (extreme programming) at our company and found interaction between other companies of value during our implementation. Charlie

Charlie,
Please take a look at http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/000180.html
My fear is that I create the forum and nobody talks. So it's a dead forum. Do you think that would happen?

fantastic paul. kudos to you. after a long time , you are starting really a good forum. hardcore techie thing. I was going to suggest this only. Actually there will be dearth of the people who know about this. But , it is the core. Process. Many people even don't know whether their organisation is following any process or not. as rational claims that even if you don't have any process still you can use rup & built upon that. But , why rup ? there is XP ? there are many in the tunnel ? only thing is that people shoul be aware of this ?
brilliant idea. Plase start this tread. I will be die hard particpant of this thread apart from your ooad , refactoring , uml tread.
apart from that you should start the tread purely for software enginnering. bring moderators , particpants in these forums. it is the crux. need of the industry to build beautiful softwares.
amen for the success of this thread you are planning.
bye.

shailesh,
This all sounds excellent to me.
The one thing I ask of you is this: Are you prepared to breathe life into this forum for the next week to get it rolling? This would mean posting a new message or two a day to try and get conversation started. Maybe going to some newsgroups and the like to tell people about your new forum .... stuff like that. I ask because I just don't want to create a forum and have it be dead.

You firghten me terribly. I would like to go home now. Here, take this tiny ad:
