Creating DataSource in 10g

Dear All,
Wish u get this msg in good health... by the way:

I'm trying to establish connection to oracle database using jdeveloper and I want to make a datasource for that but till now i didn't reach how i can do that... So please try to guide me by any book or web link for that issue..

are you connecting your ide to your database directly? what is the version of your ide and what are the error messages?
