Hi,

I have installed JDK & JRE 1.4 installed in my system..

I tried to install Oracle 8i in my system..and it was successful but

when i restarted the system...i am not able to log into the sql prompt

"Error : Oracle not available"

when i checked the services ...in the console management of windows...i saw

OracleServiceSPRING ... STARTING....

It is not changing from that..

Spring is the database instance in my system....

I am using Windows 2000...

Wonder what is causing this problem...

Tx in advance
Regards

Couldnt completely rectify the solution....

The instance was not starting when i restart the system...

So i opened the DBA studio...started the database by loading def_Spring.ora file..

But this has to be done everytime...

Regards
