Hi,
i installed oracle8i on my system.I am using Windows xp(service pack2) as my OS.It is connecting to database when tried after the oracle is installed sucessfully.But when i restart the system,it is not getting connected to the databaseand it is displaying the following error
ORA - 1034
RACLE not available.
I checked the services also.I started all services.But when i started the service ORACLESERVICEORA(here ORA is the SID value i configured),it is not getting started,it is displaying the status as starting .Even i cant able to stop the service.i restarted the system so many times,but i am getting the same problem.
Please suggest me a solution to solve the solution.Also specify where i can find the documentation regarding the configuration and installation of ORACLE8i.
