Hi Guys,

Experiencing some performance issues. Had been using the oracle8i database with velocity as presentation layer. However, lately have had to move to using oracle 9i. It has been observerd that since then performance has been slower. Any idea why this could be happening with oracle 9???

Kindly Suggest.

Thanks.

"Sam"

Please click on the My Profile link above and change your display name to meet the JavaRanch Naming Policy of using your real first and real last names.

You use to have it correct, so why did you change it to break the rules?

Thanks

Mark

Well, is the configuration the same, the SGA Sizing the same, maybe in 8i you had lots of data cached in the SGA because it was running for a while, and now 9i has to catch up. Maybe when the data structure was brought over, they forgot all the indexes.

There could be lots of reasons.
