I am using javac version 1.5 to write some programs which access an oracle8 database. Do I want to use the JDBC thin library that corresponds to my version of java (ojdbc5), or do I want to use the library that originally came with this release of oracle (classes12.zip)?
Thanks Jeanne. I actually tried running my code with all releases of the Oracle JDBC drivers. The Oracle8 RDBMS only worked with classes111.zip and classes12.zip.
I didn't have the ojdbc14.jar. I had gone online to download ojdbc5 and ojdbc6, which unfortunately didn't work. Thanks for the tip. I would rather use ojdbc14.jar than the classes12.zip. I'll download it and give it a try.
Every plan is a little cooler if you have a blimp. And a tiny ad.
