XP and Apache Tomcat 4.02

I have a network of two computers (both running XP). I've set up Tomcat one one of the PCs and am acessing the servlets from the other. My problems are two-fold:
1) All the setup guides I've seen refer to a WEB-INF/classes directory where code may be placed in order to be able to refresh a recompiled servletwithout restarting Tomcat. This directory does not seem to exist under 4.02. I've tried all the other /classes directories and added the <DefaultContext reloadable ="true/> line to my servlet.xml file as suggested but the server still requires restarting to reflect any compilation changes.
2) When I try to access the servlet via (hostname/servlet/HelloServlet) the browser insits that I connect to the internet before it will display the page!
(PS i've chaged the default port Tomcat uses to 80)
Many frustrating hours spent - any help would be appreciated

Could be one of 2 things.
1. Browser Settings. If it's IE it may have been setup to access the internet thru' dialup.
2. How are you refeering to the host? Are you running Tomcat in a standalone mode?
If yes you should be using the ip address instead of the hostname.
First of all try accessing the tomcat server from the machine it's running on. Open up a browser window on that machine and type in http://localhost/.
