The Search function doesn't seem to work well -- when I select a particular Forum to conduct the search, the result comes from a completely different forum... Is there any issue noted with the Search?
Here's the recent search I tried:
Search Words: Tool Comparison
Selected: Match all search terms above.
Search Forum / Archive: OO, Patterns, UML & Refactoring
Search in: Entire Message
Search by Date: Any Date
Result returned is below:
Topic Name Date Forum/Archive
Speed comparisons JD Childs February 24, 1999 Linux / UNIX

Happened to me, too. Guess I never tried searching only in one particular forum before.

Sometimes the search stuff gets goofy. I'm re-indexing everything. Let's see if this fixes it. By the time you read this, the re-index should be done. Please try it again and let me know if this fixes things.

Well, there does seem to be some improvement.. Now the search returned the recent query I have posted in the same forum but the first one on the list is still from Linux...

Okay,
Now I've done the "update threads" thing AND I re-indexed. Did that fix it?

Results of the above search:

Speed comparisons JD Childs February 24, 1999 Linux / UNIX
UML Tool Comparison Shankar Ganesh October 21, 2000 OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring

The search is much faster now tho.
PS. A search for Assignment in "Jobs Wanted" turned up:

I'm out of ideas.
I guess the search stuff has a bug. I could update to a more recent version of UBB, but then we always lose my custom changes and it takes a good day to put them all back in.
