Tomcat hasn't got a console. You can write to the Tomcat log, but there's no guarantee that the log will appear on a terminal monitor screen anywhere. Tomcat is designed to be run in boxes that have no keyboards or monitors in locked dark rooms.
Tomcat 4.1 comes with a
Struts control application that allows it to be managed remotely via a web interface, but that's not a "console" either - web pages can't receive unsolicted input.
Some people, when well-known sources tell them that fire will burn them, don't put their hands in the fire.
Some people, being skeptical, will put their hands in the fire, get burned, and learn not to put their hands in the fire.
And some people, believing that they know better than well-known sources, will claim it's a lie, put their hands in the fire, and continue to scream it's a lie even as their hands burn down to charred stumps.
