I just downloaded tomcat 4.1.27 and installed it on windows 2000 professional machine. When I start tomcat I get the following errors:

Ive set up the CATALINA_HOME environment variable to c:\tomcat 4.1 which is the directory where i installed tomcat. Im using jdk 1.4.1_02 and the JAVA_HOME variable is set up correctly.
Ive already tried to unistall tomcat and reinstall it attaching the server to another port but it also didnt work.
Can anybody help?

The port has nothing to do with it - that error appears to come from a problem parsing an XML file. Did you modify anything before trying to start the standard Tomcat distribution?
When I downloaded Tomcat 4.1.27 a couple of weeks ago there was also a "hotfix" file that had to be installed - did you get it?

It was the hotfix... I did not download it.
Thanks.

Hello kelly,
I hope this is working now.
BTW, JavaRanch has a Naming Policy Please read and change your display name to one meeting the requirement. We look forward to seeing you here in the future.
