Hi, think this may be a real tough question.
I have integrated Lotus Domino, Apache Tomcat and Extended Search all running off the same box.
I am now trying to make a custom call via Tomcat to the Extended search box.
The call simply looks like this:-
<%@ taglib uri="web-inf/tlds/taglib.tld" prefix="lotuskms" %>
<% String appID=(String)request.getParameter("AppID"); %>
<html>
<body>
<lotuskms:categories appID="<%= appID %>">
</lotuskms:categories>
</body>
</html>

The jar files (essrv.jar, extendedSearchEJB.jar etc) are in the tomcat LIB directory (and they can be seen, i have tested this bit).
The problem is when it tries to access the lotuskms objects declared in taglib.tld (which is definitely accessible). I get the following error from Tomcat:-

javax.servlet.ServletException: com.ibm.bts.es.srv.beans.jsp.EsDataBeanException:

If this was my problem I would try to catch that Exception and try to extract more information from it. Are those libraries you are using compatible with SDK 1.4? If so, maybe getCause() can help.
