Hi,
assuming i have a tomcat instance that's running several different webapps:
I need to stop some of the apps during the day to apply changes etc.
If a user tries to open one of these webapps he's confronted with
this nasty errorpage
"HTTP Status 503 - This application is not currently available"
Is there a way to show a generic errorpage for ALL webapps
"[company Logo] This service is temporarily not available jaddjaddajadda"
Any tips?

Yes there is a mechanism to associate errors with HTML web pages. In a web.xml deployment descriptor you can have an error-page element which takes a error-code that gets matched and a location . The example in the API looks like:
