I have installed tomcat4.1 on my system
when i have started tomcat it is started nicely but the problem is
when I type http://localhost:8080
the browser says that page is not available locally and it gave two options
"stayoffline" and "connect to net"
when I select stayoffline the action is nothing
I have installed J2DK1.4.0 and placed path and java_home,tomcat_home etc all correctly
Is there any problem with tomcat or browser(IE), Im using windows
thanks in advance

Hi,
I remember IE being picky about some forms of URLS
try
http://127.0.0.1:8080/
http://127.0.0.1:8080/index.jsp
http://127.0.0.1:8080/manager/html
look for a directory on your machine named etc (location depends on
your windows version) and check if there is an entry for localhost
that corresponds to 127.0.0.1 (which is always your own machine).
or use Opera :-)
Bye,
J.
