hi I installed java web services jwsdp 1_0 that come with tomcat and I have 2 jdk version installed 1.3.1 and 1.4. How to determine the tomcat uses which jdk version in its compilation?
Since the system look in the PATH for the java.exe executable, it is the PATH that determines which JVM is started. From any command prompt, type java -version you will get something like; >java -version java version "1.4.2_03" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_03-b02) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_03-b02, mixed mode) I believe that JAVA_HOME is used to find certain library files, so if the path and JAVA_HOME do not agree, you could get weird errors. I know I did when it happened to me. Bill
