Fellow Javaranchers,

I have a web site that is being served by Tomcat.
Unfortunately, I have to reset the port to an arbitary
port number (i.e. 8563) in order for it to run, since there
is already a webservice bound to port 80.
I am trying to have my DNS host set up to where my
web address (http://www.yaddayadda.com) points to that
site.
I can gain access to it locally by typing http://localhost:8563
but not http://localhost.

Any DNS experts out there to help me out, or is
it a tomcat configuration problem?

Thanks

Zak

are you able to configure the 'web service' ?

Is it apache ?

If so, you can connect apache to tomcat. You'd set up a virtual host in apache, and redirect all traffic to tomcat (on any port).

That's one option.
