I have a bean that is separated from my jsp's by an open source package, namely cewolf, which precludes me passing parameters. In that bean I want to be able to open a properties file in order to get my data storage, (either db or csv's). What directory should that properties file be put in?

If you can't pass any parameters into your bean whatsoever, then how would placing the file in *any* location make it available inside that bean?

unless the bean already expects it in a certain location, so of course, you'd put it there.

What am I missing ?
