I deploy an application (its just an index.jsp page) via the manager using the directory option (and specifying file:c:/abc/def/appdir
The manager displays a success message for the deploy and the Manager displays the context path in the application list.
The next time Tomcat is started, the application is missing.
Why? I assume it is because some xml file somewhere needs some entries, but I haven't found any xml file anywhere with entries for the web apps that are installed automatically when Tomcat is installed, and these (servlet-examples, balancer, etc. ) are persistent.

Is this tc 4.x ?

I've found numerous things in both the admin and manager app that do not persist across server restarts in this version of tc.

OK. Sorry about that, I found out what to do. After installing the application, I went to the server administration application and clicked the "commit changes" button. End of Problem. Sorry to have bother you with this one.
