I've discovered that my issue is one of pathing.

webapps
|-app1
|-app2

in both app1 and app2 there is a dll that is used by the application. what hopefully is a stupid n00b question... how do I tell tomcat that the "current" directory is dependant on which app is asking.....

ie app1 current dir = app1
app2 current dir = app2

in my case the "current" directory is system32 for some reason.

thanks all
d

Unfortunately for you, Tomcat does its own thing on "current" directories, you have to use complete paths. This frequently bites people when they don't put servlet class files in a package.

Bill,
are you saying that if I jar all this stuff together this issue just... goes away? forgive my ignorance, but I have not had the occassion to follow the more correct ways of "packaging" my web apps. ...never had the need. but if this fixes it, I'll figure it out in two jiffs. ...well, possibly three... I'm old.

I win, I'll be 65 in October.
What I'm saying is that you should never do anything in Tomcat that depends on the "current" directory.
Since I have not done anything with loading DLLs I don't know how that applies to your problem.
