Tomcat 5 is supposed to be faster, in addition to having improved management capabilities. I am surprised you find Tomcat 4 "dead slow" - my timing tests with my mock exam servlet shows responses done within 10 milliseconds. Perhaps you are just seeing the initial compile time of a JSP? Bill
Sorry, I didn't notice the Tomcat Forum. Sorry for the Inconvenience.
Thanks a lot for the links. I am going thru them and shall get back to you. By the way, could you clarify on more thing?, like, I have a web application. That contains several JSPs. If i want to make the default page, to be loaded when the application is called, say Login.jsp must be loaded. What am i supposed to do?
My Folder Structure:
c:\Tomcat\webapps\Track - jsp's c:\Tomcat\webapps\Track\web-inf\classes\ -Servlets and Beans.
Now my point is to load the Login.jsp when i call localhost:8080/Track
My interpretation of your problem is that you want login.jsp to automatically be displayed if the URL ends in /Track without naming a page. For this, Tomcat uses the welcome-file-list - see this typical entry in the default web.xml.
