Hi.
This is not kind a big problem i was just wondering why this situation happened to me. I donwloaded and installed tomcat 4.1.28.
It was running without the problem, then I add following lines to server.xml

Then when i removed this line, restarted tomcat the path http://localhost:8080/struts was still working. Any ideas why

Another thing was that when i wanted to have looging enabled for this, I added this lines to server.xml

but when I tried to start the tomcat i get an error message.

Thx for help

First Question

Now, i'm using Tomcat 5.0.16 , When i remove like you , Sure, it's still working. Because In new Version of Tomcat MUST Loading like this ::

Bootstrap
|
System
|
Common
/ \
Catalina Shared
/ \
Webapp1 Webapp2 ...

IF found some web application is not in your config file , it' autodetect/loading each application.

Reference Website
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.0-doc/class-loader-howto.html

And Second second : Please post your error.

I think, error occurred because your config invalid.

Please reference from Tomcat Document in each version from http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat
