Which of version of Tomcat, if any, can we use with java 1.5?

I believe you just need Tomcat 5.5.x for JDK 1.5.

you can check version of j2sdk supported in Tomcat at release not file in each version of tomcat .

I've got 4.1 running under Tiger. Don't know if it will accept classfiles with version flag 49 though, might require you just replace the tools.jar from /common/lib with the one from Tiger.
