Hi,
On Win XP profession edition I am getting the following pop-up while installing Tomcat 5.5.7. The pop-up is indicating that

"Failed to install Tomcat5 service
Check you settings and permissions.
Ignore and continue anyway(not recommended)?"

Why am I getting this error.

Thanks in advance

My guess is that you do not have permissions to install this program. Contact your system administrator. Tell him to install the program as the "Administrator".
