Hi All,
I want to use config files to define some properties required by code. What is the ideal place for keeping such files.

That is totally up to you. If you want to load the properties in from the classpath using a class loader, I would recommend placing your property files in the WEB-INF/classes directory of your web application. That is what I would do.
