Tomcat console in UNIX

Hi,

I am running Tomcat in unix server. I am starting the Tomcat using some shell script, am not facing any problem in that. But i wanted to see the error messages which are throwing from my application, my question is how can i see the error message in the Unix?
In windows i can see the Tomcat console, from there i can able know the error message. In Unix how to know the error message? Where i can get the printStackTrace error messges?

The error messages should be in the logs folder under TOMCAT_HOME.

And...
If you want to watch them scrolling by in real-time, use the tail program with the -f (for follow) option.

example:

 
cd /usr/local/tomcat/logs
tail -f catalina.out

Not sure which log you want to tail?
You can tail all of them at the same time if you like.

 
cd /usr/local/tomcat/logs
tail -f *
