My web hoster provides a tomcat server to deploy java applications. When I telnet into by account I notice my WEB-INF. My question is how do I deploy a WAR file? I do not have access to the webapps folder. Can I create a application folder called guestbook with WEB-INF as a sub folder and still have my Java servlet to work? The path would be "http://www.site.com/guessbook/servlet"

Still new and learning.

It sounds like your entire home directory is a web app. If that is all you have access to then you won't be able to deploy the war directly. Instead you will have to unjar your web app into the correct directories. You existing web app has to already have a WEB-INF directory - just replace what is currently there (maybe back it up first ) with what you have. JSP's would go at the "root" level - again what seems to be your home directory.
