Hi,
When I try to install the Tomcat5.5 by clicking on the jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9.exe . It is stopeed in the middle and showing the message
"Failed to install tomacat5 service. Check your settings and permissions
Ignore and continue any way not recommented".
This message comes when "Using JVM: C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_11\bin\client\jvm.dll".

The same problem is coming with Tomcat5.0 also, but if i install it by ignoring the message. then I can not start it as service while My Tomcat works well when I start it on command prompt"C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\bin" with command "Startup"

In order to install it as a service, it needs to write to the registry.
Check to make sure that the Windows user you are logged in with has sufficient permisssions to install services.

I am already administrator. So I think there should be no permission issue. At the same time I am able to install all other softwares as service.

Thank You

Is there a previous installation in the way?

If you have already had Tomcat installed as a service, did you uninstall it before trying to install this one?
