Hi,

I am facing a problem here. I am using windows 98, and I want install Tomcat 5.5.12 which require JRE 5.0. I have JRE 5.0 already. when I run Tomcat installer, I agree the agreement > select destination folder > change connector port to 80 > select JRE 5.0 path > and install...

A dialog box prompt out with message and 3 selection. "Failed to install Tomcat5 service. Check your settings and Permissions. Ignore or continue anyway(not recommended). either ABORT/RETRY/IGNORE.

If retry, still facing the same problem. if I click on Ignore, after installed, Tomcat cannot run at all.

when installing, I click on "show details". The installation process stop at
"Using Jvm:\Program files\java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\client\jvm.dll
[2005-12-23 12:48:37][1239 prunsrv.c][error]
Invalid command line arguments"

Please help......

Dattatray Sutar,

Please take a moment to read: CarefullyChooseOneForum
and find out why cross-posting your question in multiple forum and repeatedly posting the same question in the same forum will actually lower your chances of getting a quality answer.

Besides making your issue confusing and hard to read, spreading the conversation across multiple threads and multiple forums has the potential to really infuriate the very people who are most capable of helping you.

I can tell you from first hand experience that there are few things more aggravating that reading a question, thinking about it, guessing at an answer, looking things up and possibly running the solution to insure that you don't post a bad answer, then posting it; only to find out that the question had already been answered in another thread.

Please continue this discussion in the original thread.

Would anybody like some fudge? I made it an hour ago. And it goes well with a tiny ad ...
