What does
tomcat
host-manager application do?
I am just curious. Becuase I saw manager application and admin application, not sure what host-manager does.
It is located at :
/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9/server/webapps/host-manager
Can anyone give me an explanation?

If you have multiple virtual hosts, it allows you to stop and start the hosts other than the one in which the application running.
It's sort of like the manager application, but instead of controlling contexts, it control hosts.
