Configuring application event listeners

Quick question:

When starting a clean instance of either Tomcat 5.5 or 6.0, with no additional applications, I get the following error message when I attempt to deploy a .war file I just created:

...
Error Message:
FINE: Configuring application event listeners
Mar 12, 2007 2:08:50 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
SEVERE: Error listenerStart
Mar 12, 2007 2:08:50 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
SEVERE: Context [/bPoints] startup failed due to previous errors
Mar 12, 2007 2:08:50 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext listenerStop
...

However, I developed this application on 6.0 (using an instance that has worked fine for me for months) and in that, it works fine. I think it might be in the way my jars are being read. I tried to add jars to the 5.5 common lib and 6.0 lib directory of my clean installs (one at a time), but cannot get past the above error message for a successful deploy.

Any advice? It seems there is something unique about the instance of Tomcat 6 I develop with, but I can't determine what.

Examine the listener code to see what might be going wrong. E.g., does the listener make use of any Servlet 2.5 features that were not present in 2.4?

Is there no other error message in the catalina.out file?

Thank you for your reply.

No there was no additional information in the Catalina.out file even after adjusting the logging levels. I have solved the problem but the resolution did not answer why the error appeared. I copied the ../WEB-INF/lib directory contents from one working on a Tomcat 5.5 deployment to the one in error. Thus - some jar file corrected the listener error. It is not obvious which file did the trick.

Thanks
