Hi,

I have hosted a web application on Tomcat Server(5.5) on my PC (Windows XP OS). I want it to be accessible over intranet. It is working fine when I access it from my own PC using http://localhost:8080... but it is inaccessible from other machines using my machines IP address instead of localhost.

Is there any configuration that I need to do?

Regards,
PAWAN

Welcome to JavaRanch.

What does "inaccessible" mean? What happens if you go to http://ww.xx.yy.zz:8080/ from a different machine? Is it possible to ping your machine from the other system?

When I try to access from other machine using IE I get "Page cannot be displayed" error and pinging is successful from other machine.

First, before trying to debug anything with MSIE, shut off the "Show Friendly HTTP Errors" feature. Tools -> Options -> Advanced (tab).

I'm guessing that your machine has the Windows firewall running and isn't allowing outside access to port 8080. Try shutting it off or configuring it to allow access through the ports to which Tomcat is bound.

I guess there arent any firewall related issues because if I host the same application on Resin Web server it works fine.
