I'd installed tomcat5.5.9 in my computer, whose OS is WINXP, IP address in LAN is 192.168.0.99, computer name is INSPECTOR.
My question is why "http://192.168.0.99:8080/index.jsp" can't be visited by other computers in same LAN.

I'd tried to modify config file to use 8088 port, it yet didn't work.

I'd tried to modifiy my Rising Firewall config to make 8080/8088 port open, nothing happened too.

What can I do?

Something More:

This Computer with another use a HUB connecting outside with only one cable

Can you try to

from your other PCs?

Can also try to

from your other PCs to see if the port is open?

Do you have Windows Firewall enabled and is it blocking the port that Tomcat listens on?

Go to Start / Control Panel / Windows Firewall. You'll see a configuration screen for Windows Firewall. Switch to the tab "Exceptions". Click the button "Add Port..." to add port 8080 (TCP) to the list of open ports.

To Bear Bibeault
Sorry, I just forgot my password, just found.

To Freddy Wong
I could ping all others. And the computer who use same hub can reach me too from which I can't visit TOMCAT Server. But I also found some computer can't reach me.
Telnet ,emm, when I start tomcat server, it does work; if not ,it throws exception.

Jesper Young:
Thank you very much. I attempted to permit the port by your way, and now I could visit now.
