installing tomcat

Hi friends,

i am trying to install Tomcat 5.5 windows service installer.
after extracting the exe. In bin folder i am unable to see the shutdown.bat and startup.bat files
Actually i am trying to install tomcat in my laptop the OS is windows vista and java 1.6 version (default it got while configuring the laptop) is there any problem with OS and jre1.6?

The .exe install doesn't use the batch scripts.

If you install this way, you'll have start menu items, a task bar icon, and optionally a Windows Service.

If you want to run Tomcat from the batch scripts, download the ".zip" installation.

Thanks for your reply
But previously i used to do the same with XP OS. At that time i am able to see all the bat files.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
