Hi
I am totally new to Tomcat ,Would you please let me know from where I can download Tomcat easily. How to install it?

I visisted apache website but it has so many files to download for tomcat , don't know which one is useful (which I will be needing just for practicing servlets n jsps)

please let mme know I am really getting confused

From this page, download the "Core" binary distribution. Whether you download the .zip file or the .gz file (or the Windows installer if you're using that OS) is up to you - they're the same thing. The installation instructions are here.

Ok, I had the same question, but for the admin console. When I
use netbeans, I get a msg stating that as of vers 6 (I think) that
tomcat no longer comes bundled with the admin console....

So, where do you download that.

The admin web app can be downloaded from that very page.

Sorry, what about for vers 6.x? Or, would the same Admin COnsole

The admnin application is no longer supported with Tomcat6. Initially it was expected to be there but was never released. Even now there is no news on any forums or blogs or else if it will be released. Alternative options include:
- JMX
- lambdaprobe

Well, I personally miss it. It was a handy tool.

But there is a Manager application included with Tomcat 6.
