How to get Tomcat

Hello Everyone,

can anybody help me how to download Tomcat,
I am started with Head First Servlets and Jsp
but do not know how to get tomcat,i have jdk 1.4

Download it from here.
Binary Distributions/Core. Either the zip or the Windows Service Installer if you're under Windows.

yes i downloaded Windows service installer from core
Then what i have to do

yes i did that
But its giving error opening for writting

It's hard to advise on how to proceed since we don't know what error you got.

Did you re-download the installer? Sometimes downloads get corrupted (although that's a rare thing to happen.)

sometimes the default mirror site might has the corrupted file
download the tomcat from the apache mirror site
it is one of the mirror.
http://apache.mirror99.com/tomcat/
You can download any version you want.
download the .exe file in the bin directory.
and install it

1 Check the version of JDK that TOMCAT requires
2 Config the environment variable --"JAVA_HOME"
