Hi there,
A fast way of establishing an Oracle 8i connection in JBoss is as follows:
1. Create a copy of the <jboss_home>/docs/examples/jca/oracle-service.xml
2. Tailor the connection information within it as appropriate to your database.
3. Place in the file in your deploy directory of your server instance. For instance, if you're deploying your code to the default server instance, copy the file to <jboss_home>/server/default/deploy/oracle-service.xml.
The next time you start JBoss, the connection will be active and you can access via JNDI.
Hope this helps.
Darryl
