did i do anthing wrong?
i still can't get connect to the database though

The configuration looks correct. Are you certain that the MySQL JDBC jar is being loaded? For JBoss 3.2.3, the jar should be place in .../server/{app}/lib.
Another source of the problem is the location of the XML. For JBoss 3.2.3, it should be in .../server/{app}/deploy/jca.
I recently migrated from JBoss 3.0.6 and needed to make the changes described above to get my application running again.

i have put the jar files and the xml files to the folders that you have mentioned, but it still doesn't work....:\

Hi,
I am not sure it can help, but I have written a small web page about MySQL config for JBoss on my website. It is for JBoss 4 though, but should be essentially the same for JBoss 3.x.
Let me know if it solves your problem.
