Hi guys,

I wanted to develop a webpage using JSP etc., I want to do all the development on a laptop (I need to buy one!) rather than a desktop (college comps are lame!), so my question is:

What spec laptop would I need to just do the devlopment and testing using a JBoss server? Is a 512Mb with 1.7GHz processor, with 60GB Hard drive ok??

Thanks in advance for your pointers

Regards

Sounds enough.

You could probably do with less than that, so you are covered!

just start with tomcat !

you'll love it !! ! ! ! !!

you can deploy it on any current pc no big woop (windows, linux). When you get over 5000 users check out a jboss book at barnes and noble.

A good question to ask oneself when deciding on tomcat... or jboss.

1. Heavy DOOTY users DAILY? (i.e. 5000000 )
answer: Jboss

2. My development server to learn on ( i.e. tomcat runs inside jboss 2006 )it's a JSP/SERVLET application server. Jboss is a J2EE server. If you don't know what an EJB is ... learn on tomcat.
