should seam be used if not using ejb3

Reading about seam and a question popped up .

My understanding is that SEAM provides a good integration between JSF & EJB

So If I do not plan to use EJB would SEAM still be a viable solution .

Would it make any sense at all in such a case ?

What you stated (EJB + JSF integration) was the original purpose behind Seam but it has evolved way beyond than. At this time, you do not need to use EJBs with Seam. You can, instead, code your business methods using POJOs. Of course, you would still want to use JPA for your database access.
