Yes I downloaded a 51.* mb free personal version of StarOffice from www.stardivision.com.But it is not a java version. It is windows95/98/Nt version. [This message has been edited by K_Guru (edited February 25, 1999).]
Someone I know said it is too slow. They also didn't like the Desktop in a Desktop approach. I guess Star Office presents its own world. I asked if the version he was trying was Java and he said he didn't think so.
I think there is a java version and a C version. Haven't tried either. But want to give my support where I can. It will be great to use word processor that uses the "industry standard" format and actually works.
I have installed StarOffice on a Linux Redhat distro as root. But i dont know how to share my app with my other non-root login account. Can you please teach me how-to? Thanks, Randy
Hi, I just installed StarOffice5.1 on RH6.2. How do I find out whether it's Java version or C version. I also have SO 5.0 on win 98 m/c but the desktop of the one on the linux is totally different from the one on the Win.
