Someone I know said it is too slow. They also didn't like the Desktop in a Desktop approach. I guess Star Office presents its own world. I asked if the version he was trying was Java and he said he didn't think so.

I think there is a java version and a C version. Haven't tried either. But want to give my support where I can.
It will be great to use word processor that uses the "industry standard" format and actually works.

I just downloaded it for Linux but didn't see any option for the Java version. Did I miss something?

I have installed StarOffice on a Linux Redhat distro as root.
But i dont know how to share my app with my other non-root login account. Can you please teach me how-to?
Thanks,

Randy,
You should ask your question in the Linux forum - you'll probably get better response there.

Hi,
I just installed StarOffice5.1 on RH6.2. How do I find out whether it's Java version or C version. I also have SO 5.0 on win 98 m/c but the desktop of the one on the linux is totally different from the one on the Win.

ravee.

5.2 is better.
If you were using 5.2, I could probably answer.

may have the answer too.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
