This may not be news, but the 6.0 beta is available at Sun's website. I plan on downloading it tonight. I will post a review as soon as I have played with it.

I got it a couple of days ago. I like it so far. I also installed it on my Linux box but haven't had a chance to play with that installation yet...

It's by and large not wildly different, at least from the outside and for most people. Stuff that could affect you in everyday life is mostly:
- It's not an all in one desktop format anymore, it's more like separate apps
- Tiny file sizes
- Can't create Base databases
- The macro editor seems to have gone away
- Better conversion to and from MS Office
- They took out Schedule, Mail, and Image, though Image is kind of available in other apps. (I think it's a huge mistake--Image really had some useful aspects as a separate app.)
- Not sure what the old count was, but there are now 147 formats, including many SO ones, in the Format dropdown list in the File > Open window.
- And if you need Asian language support in everyday life, there's that.
