Experience on J2ME on hand held device

I am planning do some applications for hand-held device. Anybody has experience with J2ME applications please give me some comments on:
1) How rich the GUI development capabilities
2) Mathematical library
3) Database connection
5) Remote protocals, e.g. RMI
