Faisal,
I see that you are posting quite a few replies in this forum and
also the moderator .
Could you please tell me the differences between iPlanet Web Server and Apache. Is it as popular as Apache ?. From your answers for Raj Shekar I see that it is used in a Production Environment. The only exposure to iPlanet that I have had is when FORTE IDE prompts you to make iPlanet the default webserver
Any useful URLs or a quick reply will be appreciated.
Roy

iPlanet Web Server (iWS) is the latest incarnation of Netscape Enterprise Webserver, an old trusty stalwart. It's a good webserver overall, and comes with a Servlet (&JSP) container that seems to work well. We're using iAS (in production) instead as we'll be using EJBs in the next year, but it uses iWS as the webserver front-end. We're also looking at Forte Enterprise and it seems to work pretty well with iPlanet, but Sun is still working on the integration of their products. I'm pretty confident iWS would work well in a production environment.

The following URL is a starting point to get familier with iPlanet products:
http://www.iplanet.com/products/platform_layer/web_application_2_1d.html
If you are specific about any particular one please post here. Also, One of my previous replies had URLs about web-based iAS6 tutorial.
Regards,
Faisal
