Hi Gerry,
It's been quite a while...well, I'm putting my iWS and iPAS in cold storage indefinitely for now because I'm preparing for the SCJP2 exam (Didn't the SCJP2 bug finally bite you? I think you should go ahead and be certified -- SCWCD if you please).
Yeah, when I visited the iPlanet Web site yesterday, a statement there says that "We've moved!" and "On March 17, 2002, Sun officially concluded its original Alliance agreement with AOL. iPlanet is now a division of Sun and is a core component of the Sun[tm] Open Net Environment (Sun ONE)..."
Do you think the iPlanet product line couldn't quite take off full blast to the stratosphere because of "too many cooks spoil the broth" despite the techies behind it -- but now that Sun has umbrella jurisdiction, would it be better from this time on?
I personally think that the iPlanet product line is good. But to take it to be better and possibly to be the best is really up to Sun. I just couln't wait to dust off my iWS and iPAS...
And hey, "CJP" and "AMSE" -- great bylines
Ex Animo Java!
