Hai ,
Recently we migrated our application from JWS2.0 to iPlanet web server6.0 on Solaris5.2.We are using corba
(Iona-Orbix3.2c) classes for interfacing with legacy systems. While run-time , application needs the bind(string , string) method in the
NamingContextHelper.class which is in org.omg.cosnaming package. This method is available in the OrbixNames.jar file supplied by Iona. But the same class i.e NamingContextHelper.class is also available in the same package(org.omg.cosnaming) in the rt.jar supplied by the JDK , but the particular method bind()with 2 string parameters is not there in the class supplied by JDK.So By default JVM is taking the rt.jar only and throwing the exception "This method is not there in the NamingContextHelper class. We gave the classpath for the OrbixNames.jar.Still it is not taking form that jar file.
We mentioned the java.option=-Xbootclasspath:/OrbixNames.jar also in the jvm12.conf file for the server instance.
Can anyone give the solution for this.. Please !!!
Thanks in advance....

I can't find even a deprecated bind method in the 1.2 or 1.3 APIs for org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextHelper class. Which leads me to believe that Iona has used the same package and class name for a proprietary extension. Which, as you've found out, is a *really* bad idea.

It's not like you can demote rt.jar either. I think you're looking at re-writing that bit of the application that uses that class.
