Httpd.exe consuming memory

Our problem is the following one: we have a secure instance Web running
under Windows 2000 Server with iPlanet 6.0 and SP2a. When we started up the iPlanet service, it's risen the associate process "httpd.exe". Observing the Task Manager we see that it grows until it consumes all the memory.

There are so many things this could be. I've moved this to our "Sun[tm] ONE Application Server" forum for you to see if any of the SunOne/iPlanet users there can offer any help.
