David
Our love for S1AS dates back to iPlanet...back to NAS..back to Kiva...
We are still hung upon using applogics on ias6.0 sp1. Though our application is not very huge, unfortunately we dont have a biz case/plans in the near future to dedicate time for migration. Is there a way that we can get to S1AS just as we did to iPlanet from NAS ....or are we doomed with all those problems of 6.x until we migrate
to 7.0 ?

Does the book cover Migration topics(from nas to sias 7.0 OR to ias6.0 ? The documentation on migration on sun site is not bad but is not comprehensive. Any resources that you may refer to ?

No, I don't cover migration at all. Nor do I cover AppLogics. (I know a lot about applogics, but it isn't something that I would encourage anyone to use in 2002.) I don't cover 7.0 at all either. (7.0 wasn't even in alpha when I finished writing the book.)
There is good news, however. There is a very effective migration toolkit to migrate AppLogic code to J2EE. It leverages the iAF and is part code converter and part runtime library. Contact your local sales rep for a copy. As long as you are using S1AS/iAS the migration tool is free, although engineering does keep close tabs on the software as it's not a packaged product.

Alas, poor Yorick, he knew this tiny ad:
