Hi,
We are migrating our application from iAS to iWS and now we are facing the database pool problem. Does iPlanet Web Server 6.0 provide any database pooling features? or should we use some external pool (Jakarta, for example)?
Regards,
Miguel.

As far as I know, the connection pool and other features are a part of SunOne App server, the release after iPlanet 6.
Pls confirm..

I know version 6.1 of Sun Java System Web Server (formerly Sun ONE Web Server formerly iPlanet Web Server) has JDBC connection pooling. See Chapter 12 (specifically page 292) of the "Administrator's Guide" available here on Sun's Web Site. I do not believe v6.0 had built in JDBC support, but you can search the version 6.0 documents to see verify. (Also keep in mind that v6.0 was not Servlet 2.3 / JSP 1.2 compliment, but v6.1 is, so I would recommend using v6.1 on that accord alone).

You will always be treated with dignity. Now, strip naked, get on the probulator and hold this tiny ad:
